Questions answered

Everything Pubs AskBefore They Join

Space, staffing, cost, weather and commitment — the honest answers, in one place.

The commitment

How much work is involved for the venue?

Almost none — your only job is the welcome and the bar. Our operator arrives, sets up, runs the scoring and packs everything away.

Do I need any golf knowledge?

No. Everything is run by our team and the format is social first. Your regulars don't need to be golfers either.

How many nights do we host?

Six allocated league nights across the season, plus a dedicated Weekend Tour event. Your team also plays away fixtures at other Founder Clubs.

What if we can't fill a team?

We help. Founder Clubs get hands-on support recruiting a squad, appointing a captain and launching the first night.

Space and setup

What space is required?

Less than most venues expect: roughly 4m x 5m of clear space and a standard power socket. Indoor rooms, covered outdoor areas and suitable outdoor spaces all work.

What do we need to provide?

Nothing but the room. We bring everything the night needs and take it all away afterwards.

What happens if it rains?

Nights go ahead. The setup runs indoors, in covered outdoor areas or in suitable outdoor spaces — covered locations are recommended whatever the weather.

Is it safe indoors?

Yes. The setup is fully enclosed and operated by a trained member of our team throughout the evening.

Cost and commercials

What does it cost the pub?

Founder Club membership is £299 per year, and that is the whole cost. It covers the team, the season, the operator, everything we bring and all league administration.

Who pays the weekly team entry?

Weekly team entry of £50 per fixture (£5 per player) is paid by the team through the club captain, not by the venue.

Are there hidden extras?

No. There is nothing to buy, hire or license. Your venue keeps all bar and food revenue from every night.

The league

How long is a season?

24 weeks, followed by a shorter indoor Winter League to keep players engaged through the quieter months.

How are results published?

Every attempt is recorded and verified by our operator. Results, club standings and both Orders of Merit update the same night.

What happens after the founding season?

The league continues and grows. Founder Clubs remain permanently recognised as the twelve venues that launched it.

How many customers typically attend?

A league night brings your team, the visiting side and their supporters — typically a busy midweek room, with friends and family coming in to watch.

The final twelve

These Twelve Places Will BecomePart of Ashford's History

Once the first season begins, the Founder Clubs are set. Every season that follows will look back at the twelve venues that started it.
